So, as already mentioned in my earlier posts … I’ve started spending more time in the nature lately and less in the crowded smoky areas. I’ve started observing the life, everyday life mostly with its miniature elements, from a different angle.
I’ve always had an eye for small things, but I feel I’ve started noticing them even more lately, probably due to the lack of hangovers during the weekends. My mind is clearer. 🙂
I took a walk around the block the other day. We live very near to the lake and the forest. We are lucky to be surrounded by a beautiful nature and amazing, rich market that’s just a few metres away from where we live.
This is my little ode to the autumn expressed in pictures. Hope you’ll like it! I love to look at the tree tops when I walk, but when the earth below me is covered with leaves that rustle under my feet, and when I have Converse on, I just enjoy pointing my eyes down, towards the ground.
With kids at school, swings are empty
Walking towards the lake
Rain, drizzle, foggy day, array of wooden/stone houses placed along the lungomare…winter, and the smell of mulled wine, snow flakes flowing from the nearby mountains but only there to be marvelled at, melting at the first touch, sea going up and down, waves crushing against the wall. It’s so cold, but the streets are full, packed with people…something is in the air. I guess it must be food and drink that pulled people out of their houses, out from under the blankets and soothing sound of air-condition.
This type of weather always brings artistic side in me. I enjoy simple walks down the streets. I pull out my camera and shoot images of people, of colourful leaves, umbrellas etc. The whole street is like an artist’s canvas, just with images that are on a constant move; and so the picture never stays the same and doesn’t bore an accidental admirer.
It’s ever exciting. You just need to take a moment and isolate yourself from whatever seems to be on your mind at that moment and just let yourself be pulled into the image. It’s like walking into the wardrobe that will lead you to a totally different world. You just need to let go of the reality and present moment and be ready to walk through that door.
You get a new perspective of the world. What was normal a moment ago, got a totally new dimension now.
The other day, I was chasing this walking umbrella down the street. It was a rainy day and there was one passer-by with the most beautiful umbrella I’ve seen so far. I was wearing wedge shoes and they were slowing me down a bit, and the sunflower umbrella was too fast for me. I did manage to catch an image of it, despite the rain, and wedge shoes…
I walked through the door, stepped into the canvas and all I could see was the sunflower walking, leaves scattered around the pavement and hear the rain drops knocking on top of my umbrella. Nothing else existed.
